Thread: iPhone 3GS FAIL!

I just stumbled over this the other day and I thaught I JUST GOT TO POST IT HERE!
This is simply amazing. If I come to think of I myself was this |.| close of getting an iPhone.

However after some very difficult searching and googling I found that it wasn't the right device for me.

But from "not the right device" to a total !FAIL! there's a long road!

2. iDon't offer a real web experience, most sites identify me as a phone.

If you are a fanboy and after reading all this you are firmly convinced that this is still a great device, there might be something wrong with you on a psychological level:

If you just got one, instead of flaming, chill and remember there's always eBay!

It's just a device, not a religion, it does not make you neither pretier nor smarter - quite the opposite in the opinion of many.

Have you checked the age of the post? Also, some of those "problems" can be resolved by Jailbreaking(I think). I'm hopefully gonna get a new phone tomorrow, I might pick the iPhone 3GS 16GB.

It really seems unsafe, I wouldn't get one as my main phone, I have an iPod touch and gaming on that screen without buttons is more of a "mneh", it's far to sensitive.

I just got the N900, it may be a brick but it ain't one compared to my older N82 :p and battery life on medium usage is heroic, I can get almost 2 days without charging (35 hours!).
And no jailbreaking needed for anything:D

Yeah my local phone shop also carries the N900, and it's cheaper than the iPhone... Well, I might just get a deal for a phone tomorrow since it's my second returned phone... both of them were Nokias tough, so I don't know if the N900 will last long.

Trust me it's awesome :D there really is nothing that it can not do!

It can easily replace a netbook in your daily activities, it all depends if you're willing to cary it, it's quite heavy but not much larger than a pack of cigs.
Also if you're a fan of 66stage and other sites like it you'll be thrilled, that's where real flash support comes in.

Only thing i'm skeptical about are the games.

Well the heaviness is not a problem, I'm used to run around with a laptop and a bunch of school books all day, and since I've purchased myself a new computer I won't carry that much any more, meaning the weight does not really matter. How is the processing power? Like if I go on Youtube with my E71 the phone lags for 10-30 seconds before I can do anything, is the N900 smooth? Is it smooth overall? And is it the relatively horrible netkit(the one in every Nokia phone) browser that is bundled with it?

The browser is mozilla based, it's lighting fast and there's no webkit anymore, at all.
The pages load blazing fast but youtube takes ~15-20 secs depending on the network to buffer a video but keep in mind that this is done in-browser just like on a real pc.

If you're to use an app like the iPod touch does (no flash support here) it takes 8 seconds to start the video (and zoutube is the app).

As for the smoothness it's amazing! I was actually shocked when I first started playing with it since in all the youtube videos i've seen, there was a visible nice animation when closing windows or applicaions - well it's either youtube that messes the fps & quality or the latest firmware, meaning I was more than surprised of how fast it is, you can barely see the animation.

I spent the past days watching full movies, streaming from wisevid and the best thing about it was that I could switch back to the messenger (pidgin - simply all services you can imagine) when the movie got boring, chat a few words while still hearing what was going on and switch back to the movie, all smooth with no lags ;)

So the in the end this phone is exactly about processing power.

Actually sounds great. The fact that it's cheaper than the iPhone does not make me want to have it less.

The build quality also looks much better than my two other Nokia phones, E71 and E65. I do however wonder about the keyboard, does it feel good and does it 'click' like a normal phone keypad or is it practically soundless like my E71? And is there a onscreen keyboard in case you want to text someone quickly without flipping up the keyboard?

EDIT: Just read on a site that N900 have a touch screen keyboard ;)
