Default Duo Tone Images

Today you will learn about the use of Duo Tones to get a double color image.
This means that the color pallete will span these two colors. Making a gradient to choose the best colors from. Black and white are of course included in duo tones.

Lets start by taking the image you want to change into duo tones.

Now go to Image > Mode > Grayscale .

This will make your image loose all its color like this:

Now, go to Image > Mode > Duo Tone.

This will bring up a screen that has a list of colors and a bunch of confusing stuff. It looks like this:

On the tope where it says Type: That allows you to select how many colors you want to use.

You can do duotone, tritone, quadtone ect... But i advise you keep it simple for now.

When Preview is checked, you can see your changes on the picture. This is a good idea to get the right effect.

Okay, so now you know a little about it, lets pic your first color. To start off, Look near Ink 1. If you click on the color (green in my picture) It will bring up a color selector that looks fairly similar. Choose your first color. I advise that it be a light color because you want contrasting colors for a better effect.

I choose a green because i liked the look. #76CD20 is the html if you need to know.

For the second color i choose a dark blue. #1D1157

This produced a final Product:

As you can see Duo Tones can have some great effects on images. Not only does it give more true colors, but it takes away stray colors that dont fit the final product very well. Creating A smaller file size and a much better color pallete for GIF images.

P.S - As usual this is not my original tutorial, so Credit to the Art Maker.
