Default Uconnect 8.4N Dodge Journey (RB5) with Garmin system

Hi There, I´m looking for help.
I need to update the map on my Dodge Journey but it only let me update maps from US.
I was moved overseas because of my job and now I have a excelent car (donde Journey 2011) with a 8.4 Inches Screen but without maps.
I have the local version of garmin Maps but the system refuse to update maps (it only let me put US maps on it)
I´m wondering If I have to patch the garmin firmware on it so I can upload other maps than US maps.
or re install the firmawe itself...
problem is that I do not know which firmware to use.
    Please help!!
I need to find a way to change maps.
The Garmin interfaz is like the Nuvi 50 but you dont have a way to introduce new maps on it.(You cant make it read form an SD card)
the only way you can update maps is pluging a pen drive on the USB plug (with a GMAPPROM.IMG file on it)
any GMAPPROM from US is accepted but when I tried a GMAPPROM form southamerica it is rejected saying that the map is not compatible with the device..
can anyone help me how to do it? or a way to patch this ?
    thanks in advance!

I was wondering if you have the instructions or maybe a link on how to update maps in the 8.4N uconnect? I have a 2012 but would like to update it to the 2013.

Are you sure that u can read maps? Also from your origin place? Is strange. I'm trying to update my European map v 2012 to v 2013.20, but the Garmin unit (CPT2012) is refusing it. Where have you copied the file gmapprom.img? Have you created a Garmin directory? In my unit isn't working at all. It start a kind of upgrade process, but after few seconds it stop and tell that he cannot continue due to an error.
If you can help, it will be fantastic.

    Grazie Walter from Italy

At the end i did it. I created a directory inside a USB pen named Garmin, inside i copied the map europe 2013.20 unlocked renamed in gmapprom.img. After 20 minutes, it asked me for the DVD code? But actually there aren't official updates for this unit until 2013, so how can i get the code? There's a keygenerator or something?
