This ingenious “Programmable Liquid Container” is set to revolutionise the way we enjoy bottled beverages. Honest.
Check out this snappily-monikered Programmable Liquid Container from Ipfini.
Make drinks your own. Push the button.
The technology uses a series of buttons on the bottle’s exterior. These contain additives (stuff like flavourings and colourings) that are injected into the drink when the button is pushed. The idea is that the customer can add extras to his soda pop after buying it. Want a dash of lemon in your Coke? Push the button.
Stick several of the buttons on one bottle and you’ve got a mind-boggling array of possibilities at your fingertips (quite literally). “Providing choice at the point of consumption creates tremendous advantages for the consumers as well as the manufacturer,” said Ipfini’s Glenn Wachler, chugging back on a bottle of lemon-orange-cranberry-kumquat juice he’d customised earlier.
I just made that last bit up, by the way.
Ipfini is licensing the technology to big name beverage, paint and pharmaceutical companies at the moment, so it might not be too long before you see it stacked up on your local supermarket’s shelves...
