IT looks like there will soon be a new battle of the sexes… over who gets the gizmos. According to a new survey, tech-savvy women are spending more on the latest kit than ever before – taking as much time and consideration over the purchase as they would with a pair of shoes. Click Here To Register...]asked 2,000 ladies about their habits with 27 per cent revealing they splash out more than £1,000 a year on mobiles, MP3 players, digital cameras and the like. And it seems the girls rate style and fashion above all else when picking their products as 32 per cent admitted to updating their purchases as regularly as their wardrobe to keep up with the trends. Many designers are now getting into the tech market with special products like the Dolce and Gabbana gold RAZR phone, pictured below. Size was the second most important factor with 22 per cent aiming for stuff they could fit in a handbag like the iPod Nano and Motorola SLVR handset. Ease of use and brand name were the third and fourth most important aspects with price no object either. Only 13 per cent saw affordability as a barrier to queuing up at the till. Jessamy Hawley of GadgetCandy.com said: "These results show how an emerging generation of women are spending increasing amounts of money on gadgets, and over time, this will mean more companies will create products that focus especially on the female consumer.
