which means in UK its Daddy Longlegs time ! (Craneflys)



My house is literaly being invaded by Daddy long legs, and so far i must of killed at least about 50 of 'em.... but they keep coming...

i cant sleep wiht the window open otherwise I will wake up to about 10 flapping aorund my room, and then im scared they will fly in my mouth !!

they are starting to bug me now and im getting a bit of a phobia about them.

anyone else have this problem ??

In Cyprus those Daddy Longlegs don't stand a chance cause here we have the Femme Fatal of all Insects the Mosquetto!!! There are loads of them and they don't stop sucking your blood till the morning and can give a nasty infectious bite too...

Anyway we combat them with Machines that give off a sent that they hate and therefore give us all a good nights sleep....

almost as scary sa ya defence this year my bro (a lcfc fan too) spent most of our last visit complaining on how to lose a game in ten min (missed penalties ect) should never lost martin o niel if ya ask me

to be honest Crane flys (daddy long legs) dont bite ! they just annoy me ! so no need for mossy repelent like you guys in hot countries !

im just being a wimp ! LOL !

when i do go to other countries I get bitten more than Jonathan Harker and they really swell up as well ! this year I went to Thailand and got bit to hell !

but worst experience was when i went to Kos in Greece ! jees, i reckon i had a nest of em under my bed ! and the repellents didnt get rid of em rither ! so i spent most of my holiday scratching like a dog with fleas

its a common thing here in the uk to call them DADDY LONG LEGS altho you stated its correct name of CRANE FLY

The DADDY LONG LEGS is actually a SPIDER and not a flying insect at all



no ideas why people started calling CRANE FLY'S daddy long legs but there ya go .. quirky mad british we are lol

To correct you, I know this is an old thread but the Crane fly is a fly, spiders do in fact have 8 legs as the photo shows.

But indeed it is September again and last night at work was hellish, legs and wings sprewn across the floor in any room with their windows left open.

Of course though I was so they didn't bother me, the ghostly buildings are far more worrying.
