UPDATE
Blackberry squeezes in GPS! RIM has pledged to overhaul its e-mailing mastermind before the end of the year, packing in juicy features from Wi-Fi to video skills and even GPS! Our favourite mobile e-mailer just got a lot tastier. James Balsillie, head of Blackberry makers Research In Motion has promised features by the bucket load for all new models, including GPS in every handset! Speaking to eWEEK, the mobile boss said that cameras, MP3 and video support, more memory and GPS mapping would all make their way to Blackberry before the end of the year. A Wi-Fi enabled handset is also expected, opening up super-fast web surfing on the move, without relying on clunky mobile networks. Juicy mobile accessories are also high on RIM’s to-do list according to Balsillie, with printers, barcode scanners and “digital pen and paper” all being concocted by the company’s labs. Blackberry’s latest handset, the 7130g, was a vast improvement on its predecessor, slimming down and packing the fastest smartphone processor ever. Here’s hoping RIM can squeeze in even more impressive features for its next handsets, without compromising on the Blackberry’s renowned efficiency!
