Running a website costs. And a successful website requires a lot of money. Advertisements help the owners to pay the running costs. So ads should not be a problem.

Even if you want to see no ads use 'Adblock Plus' on firefox and chrome/chromium.

    Thank you.

    no way abdulmājid!

justifying unwanted ads with the argument "running a
website costs" is comparable to any running cost reason
someone gives you whilst jamming up your letterbox with
all sorts of junk at the same time.

    already forgotten the dark ages?
there had been no simple negligible ads. it was an entire pest,
flashing and obstructing windows, wasting time and resources and
often with contents the majority did not care or did not want to be approached with.
AdBlock turned up and I suppose millions are using it to tackle this plague.

strangely these 'good guys' published a so called "AdBlock Detection Script" too,
in my opinion AdBlock surrendered to demands from the 'poorest'.
however, in my experience sites who are using this detection
script are most of the times bullying you for not unblocking too.
they let you go into the waiting area and finally 'punish' you with the denial
of a download. many of these paupers brought the mess up initially leading to
Adblock and they are praying to be set loose again.

how to separate the wheat from the chaff?
    humbleness!
the good guys ask for donation or click to support, they do not
not harass you if you won't and they do not leave cookies or
other traces of carp - example?
Just have look at the menu bar of all Noeman pages!

    regards
    Damian

Direct TV does not schedule the ads - the networks do, DTV has no control. Your friends will find the same number of ads when they switch to cable.
