Bob Parsons has stated on his blog, [Only Registered users can see links . Click Here To Register...], that if you instigate a transfer to GoDaddy and the transfer fails, they will keep track of all failed transfers and petition ICANN and Verisign for the transfer of domains, whatever the reason for the transfer failure. Of course there are no guarantees, but it's the best offer I've seen from all the registrars.
They also have a discounted transfer special, $6.25 for COM & NET and $5.75 for INFOS. [Only Registered users can see links . Click Here To Register...] it depends very much what your problem is and whether your domains are with RegisterFly or Enom registrars. Whether you have privacy on/off, can unlock your domain, have your own email address in the whois, can get auth codes., expired or not, in grace or redemption periods. But what Bob is saying is that for whatever reason the transfer is refused, they will follow-up with ICANN and Versign as best they can. This might be especially helpful if ICANN remove their accreditation next week. So initiating a transfer at GoDaddy knowing it's going to fail will get you on GoDaddy's list when they divvy-up the spoils. I think you can trust GoDaddy to make all best efforts and leverages on your behalf. I think it's basically good insurance. The Registerfly webite has turned into something better than it was two weeks ago. Most of us are able to transfer out from them now. At least with most of our domains. So, I also think it will be business as usual next week. If ICANN should go to the steps that they should remove RegisterFlys accreditation, it would probably make a large mess for all those who still stays at Registerfly and then will have to transfer out. = More problems.
