Eliica (8 wheeled electric car)
Eliica
This ambitious concept, known as the Eliica (a contraction of “electric lithium-ion battery car”), first appeared at the Toyko Motor Show back in 2005, and since then only two versions of the car have been produced.

But now the team behind the car, from Keio University in Tokyo, want to take things to the next level, and are currently looking for financial backing to put 200 versions of this superfast electric car into production. But it'll come at a price: a cool £125,000, to be precise. But at least you know you're getting something unique for your money.
With the ability to seat the driver plus four passengers, the Eliica is claimed to be able to travel a distance of more than 200 miles on just one charge, which is good going for a vehicle that is 6.7m’s long and weighs 2,400kg.

We're not sure we've heard of an eight-wheel car before.
Of course there was the Panther 6 six-wheel convertible which could top 200mph as far back as the '70s,

PANTHER 6 wheel convertible
and then there's the six-wheeled Covini C6W which has taken 30 years to go into production (which finally looks set to happen),

COVINIC 6 wheeler
but as far as eight-wheeled motors go, the Eillica may just be out there on its own.

Apparently, there is a genuine reason for there to be eight wheels on this bizarre car, with the team behind this ambitious project planning to break the world speed record of 250mph. In testing, the car has achieved a top speed of 230mph, so it doesn’t have far to go. And it’s a pretty good speed for an environmentally-friendly motor, with only the forthcoming SSC Aero EV claimed to be faster than that.

We wish the Eliica team all the best in their quest to find funding.
I think it looks like something out of Captain Scarlet or Thunderbirds, but I wouldn't say no to having one, lol

Damn. I guess that's pretty amazing, and unique too. Environmentally friendly, and able to go real quick in a straight line. But how does it handle around bends? How heavy is this thing? And damn, this thing kinda makes me think of a bug.
