I am not an expert on the PSP but it appears that this new firmware will make if more difficult to play homebrew games, You would have to check that out with some of the homebrew pros though... It appears that they will offer you a carrot in order to make it more difficult forpeople to play homebrew software...

As for the MMC Situation It should work on your PSP better than your phone...
