Smile Sony PSP video recorder

If you've messed around with getting video onto your PlayStation Portable, you'll know what a hassle it can be. First you have to record the video from TV or perhaps rip it from a DVD and then go through a time-consuming encoding process to change it into the particular MPEG4 variant that the PSP will accept. Well, worry no more. For about ¥20,000 (US$173), Sony Corp. will soon sell customers in Japan the MSVR-A10 stand-alone encoder box that will encode from a composite video or S-video signal directly into MPEG4, and then store it on a Memory Stick Pro Duo card. Then you're set for watching video on your PSP. There's no word on international sales plans.
