I agree with KKAN. I own both an Original Nintendo DS & a DS Lite. Games like Phoenix Wright & Truma Center are trully original & inspired where the PSP seems to only get ports of PS2 games.
The Wi-Fi gaming on DS is also free, I can go to Starbucks for a coffee or the Pub for a pint and pick up any wireless network and play games (Mario Kart really is cool online) or surf the internet where as with the PSP you need to have a subscription to a Wi-Fi supplier (the Cloud or BT OpenWorld).
Basically the DS has far more innovative features than the PSP (touch screen, mic, original games, multiplay download play) and this shows in the sales, apparently it is still not possible to just walk into a shop in Japan and buy one, most shops are still running some kind of pre-order system as demand for the handheld far outstrips supply.
