Samsung Electronics plans to introduce its DVB-H enabled mobile handset, the P960, into the Taiwan market with the launch schedule to be decided later, according to Ryu Jae Hyun, director of mobile communications unit at Samsung Taiwan.

The most notable feature of Samsung P960 cell phone is its DVB-H support. It has a TV-like pictogram on one of the shortcut keys next to the D-pad.
Samsung has been in contact with trial operators and could launch the P960 in Taiwan in the third quarter of this year at the earliest, Ryu projected.
The sliding form factor P960 also supports HSDPA technology and features a built-in 3.2-megapixel camera, according to Samsung. The P960 debut at the 2008 GSMA Mobile World Congress held in mid-February in Barcelona, Spain.
In other news, Scott Huang recently resigned from his post as vice president of the mobile communications unit of Samsung Taiwan to take up a new appointment at Apple Taiwan, according to market sources.
