with potentially less than inspiring results. In a statement released today from the company's head of devices, Kai Oistamo, the phone-maker says it will be launching a series of touchscreen devices in the second half the year, with the first model -- likely the Tube -- aimed at the "volume market." Oistamo claims that the mid-range market (not the high-end sector that devices like the iPhone 3G occupy) account for 50 percent of the total value of the touchscreen phone game. Essentially, it looks like Nokia's strategy will be business as usual, likely flooding the field with unspectacular mid-range phones, rather than taking on pricier competition like recent Apple and Samsung devices head-to-head, at least initially Read More...
For the smattering of Canadians wealthy enough to pick up an iPhone 3G from Rogers Wireless without worrying over the lack of an unlimited data plan, we've stumbled across what appears to be internal verbiage detailing the in-store activation process. Quite frankly, there doesn't seem to be any real surprises here, but it is somewhat interesting that retail locations will be required to download and use a special version of iTunes with an "Activation Only Mode," which will enable employees to unbrick the mobiles before customers leave. In any case, feel free to hit the read link if you're anxious to know exactly what the sure-to-be-hair-raising experience will be like come July 11th Read More...

Nokia's having a bit of trouble keeping its E71 QWERTY business phone under wraps, with that initial sighting in January, and now another couple in-the-wild shots to keep us interested. If anything this serves confirm those previous shots, but it's nice to see some autofocus on this 3.2 megapixel puppy. If our powers of badly-translated Chinese deduction are correct, the third picture of the set could be the E66, but we're not jumping to any conclusions just yet. Read More...

Playstation Portable (PSP.TM.) gaming device", as well as about 5 other mentionings of the PSP brand. Interesting!!
